This time of the year is mostly considered as the best time for holidays. Most people go to the coast to have some fun and just chill to relinquish all the stress and work load they have had throughout the year.

The country usually is blessed with lots of tourists who want to enjoy the cool coastal breeze and the sunshine. The beaches along the Coastal line becomes their ideal situation.

But it seems Al Shabaab have started destructing the mood.

A woman, also an employee at the children’s home, was reported to be in critical condition after being shot on the chest. The children’s home is about 100km from Malindi town.

Peter Ponda, former Malindi County Council chairman,  told the Star on the phone that he had received a distress call from Chakama that there is an attack. He asked authorities to act fast.

Tension is high in the area. Police are pursuing attackers.

Do you think government should act swiftly before more people are attacked?
