I have always complained about the level of Cyber bullying in Kenya. I don’t like how we Kenyans, find fun in everything, including some sensitive things that shouldn’t be joked about.

This year’s KCPE candidate Olive Mwea was on Citizen TV on Monday evening for an interview with Yvonne Okwara.

Olive  emerged the joint top pupils in this year’s exam after scoring 453 marks. The other candidate was Rawlings Odhiambo from Kakamega Hills School in Kakamega County.

Hell broke loose when the pupil from Riara Group of schools revealed that she wanted to become a doctor. For some unknown reasons, Kenyans decided to troll the little girl using this.

“Even Raila wanted to be the president of Kenya, but now you can see where he is……” said a certain Abdrizack.

And the trolls kept on coming.

” I wanted to be an anti corruption officer but i ended up being bribed.” A certain Peter Ochieng said.

“Even Khaligraph the OG himself wanted to be a teacher bt now he makes noise in his own music.”

Is this really warranted?

Is it wrong for a young girl to dream about joining the medical profession? What happened to encouraging young people? Does it mean that when you fail in life, all other people must fail too?

I think this ugly scenes must be stopped. Hiding behind a keyboard to troll a young innocent girl just because she did better than you is worse than witch craft.

Mwea, the top girl nationally sat her exams at Riara Group of Schools in Nairobi while Odhiambo wrote his exams at Kakamega Hills School in Kakamega County.

Mwea said she didn’t expect the results meaning she understands she is not entitled to anything. She must work for that medical degree.

“I didn’t expect to score 453 marks, I expected to score 433, when I got the results this afternoon it was unbelievable, I was really excited, ” said Mwea.

Riara school principal Naomi Mbugua expressed her joy saying it was the institution’s first time to produce a top candidate nationally.

“I’m so delighted that we have the first child, this is our first time, having done KCPE for the last 28 years, ” she said.

Mrs. Mbugua said Mwea was a hard working girl full of humility. “She is a very diligent girl very strong in languages, math and all subjects, her humility is amazing,” she added.
