Fruits of the handshake or just individual efforts?
The President was not resting after launching the Kenya Coast Guard Service and their equipment and he headed straight to the Pride Inn hotel where he was hosted by the coast governors for the Jumuiya ya Kaunti za Pwani economic bloc.
The president lauded the initiative and termed it as a great boost for the economy as a result of unity and positive thinking; combining the efforts between the county and national government.
I wish to thank H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta for gracing the 1st Agribusiness and Blue Economy Investment Conference which my fellow Jumuiya Governors and I hosted at @PrideinnHotels, Mombasa County. #BlueEconomyKE #JABEIC2018 @UKenyatta pic.twitter.com/Oxii9u6frk

“We come together as the Jumuiya ya Kaunti za Pwani economic bloc because we want to change the story of the Coast, we want to change the story of Kenya. We want to change how we interact with one another to exploit our God given resources for the benefit of every Kenyan. As leaders, our role should not be how we can improve ourselves, but how we can change the lives of Kenyans. Politics is important in a democracy but it is not life.” said Uhuru.
“Politics will not fill our stomachs, it will not create jobs for our young men and women. We must retrace our steps and avoid politics of economic destruction. The opportunities and potential for growing our country are many & we must come together as leaders and encourage investors, both local and foreign. Let’s complement one another because these are the opportunities that will create more jobs for our people,” he concluded.

Some Kenyans were however not convinced that this would work and termed it as a propaganda tool to indicate wor being done yet many people in the county continue to suffer under the watch of the government.
Sir, Kenyans in particular youths, according to my simple survey are contented with you. But their are some few elements (viongozi vinyangarika) below you, they just water down every effort you make. They preach water to kenyans when near you but buy kumi kumi to kenyans!?
