Self declared hustler, William Ruto has never feared from eating Mahindi choma in public. despite being the Deputy President of the republic of Kenya, Ruto has been pictured on several occasions purchasing maize from hawkers.

And this is not just a publicity stunt, the DP really loves maize. I believe mahindi choma , laced with masala, ranks up there on the list of Ruto’s favorite dishes.

Here, we have four photos that prove Ruto really loves maize. But the big question is, can his appetite be big enough to compel him to plant 500,000 acres of land in Congo?

Three Rift Valley MPs, on Saturday, triggered a political storm after publicly claiming the  Deputy President has a 500,000-acre farm in the Republic of Congo.

In a scathing attack on the DP, the rebel Jubilee lawmakers claimed Ruto was positioning himself to be the principal maize supplier to the scandal-ridden National Cereals and Produce Board by discouraging the region from maize farming.

“You can’t be telling us to plant avocados, plant macadamia but you are not telling us what happened to maize…Now you have gone even to Congo. You are growing 500,000 acres of maize,” said Keter without producing any evidence to back his claims.

The MPs now want the DP investigated over the ongoing scandals at the NCPB.
