The Meru temper Senator Franklin Mithika Linturi displayed a few weeks ago has landed him in hot soup. After the Meru Senator threatened to kill his wife, the court has now put a restraining order against the politician.
Marianne Jebet Kitany, the Senator Linturi’s wife has today obtained restraining orders against her husband after the Milimani Commercial Court Senior Resident Magistrate I. Orenge, in his ruling, granted exclusive occupation of the besieged couple’s shared residence to Ms. Kitany and barred the politician from loitering near the home or any other place where his wife frequents.
Mr. Linturi will also neither make any contact with his wife unless permitted by the court nor threaten to damage any of her property.
“The Senator is restrained from physically or sexually abusing or threatening to abuse the Applicant, the Applicant’s staff, their six children and/or any other person associated with the Applicant,” said Magistrate Orenge in his interim order.
The Senator was ordered to allow Ms Kitany to enter any other of his residences in the company of an enforcement officer for the purpose of collecting her personal belongings.
Pending hearing and determination of an application dated October 25, 2018 filed by Ms. Kitany, the interim order was also issued “restraining the respondent from intimidating, harassing, stalking and/or engaging in any behaviour which amounts to emotional, verbal or psychological abuse of the Applicant and/or the six children.”
The drama between the love birds started when the two had a fight at their Runda home and it emerged that the Senator threatened to kill his wife.
“It was at that stage that he whipped out a gun and threatened to shoot me. I had to lock myself inside my bedroom waiting for things to calm down. Thereafter, I sought refuge in a neighbor’s house until Tuesday when I reported the matter to police,” Keitany reportedly told police.
Maryanne filed a complaint claiming that her husband, Mithika Linturi made threats to end her life. However, Senator Linturi had earlier denied the claims that he had been questioned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
Well now we know the truth, Senator Mithika Linturi lied about the whole situation and from the look of things, he most probably did threaten to kill the mother of his children.
