Odinga’s Mission to Reduce Obado to Ashes in Full Gear, Meets Migori Leaders

If you think that Governor Okoth Obado is not giving Raila Odinga sleepless nights then i bet you have not been following the recent developments at the great County of Migori.

Obado’s new found bromance with Deputy President William Ruto is causing jitters all over and especially in the Orange Democratic Party (ODM).

His crocodile remarks over the weekend seem to have even fueled the growing fears among the ODM legislators even further. It seem’s like ODM Party leader Raila Odinga has heard enough of the seemingly ongoing Mess at Migori County.

The Party boss today met with a section of leaders from Migori led by Senator Ochillo Ayacko at his Capitol Hill office. The leaders apparently briefed him of the issues in their county.

Migori county is going through a lot right now ranging from the governor facing grave criminal related charges to deputy President William Ruto’s onslaught.

It is though believed that the deputy President’s recent “courtship” of the region might have necessitated Mr. Odinga’s meeting with the leaders.

The deputy President already hinted that nothing will stop him from working with leaders across the political divide for the sake of countrywide development.

On Saturday while in Migori, the DP said he is ready to work with opposition leader Raila Odinga and that he does not care what people make of his “closeness” to Migori Governor Okoth Obado.

“President Uhuru Kenyatta and Mr Odinga have decided to bury the hatchet and work together. That is why I am visiting all parts of the country, including Migori, to spread development.” said Ruto.

His development narrative has however not been bought by the ODM legislators who believe that the DP is taking advantage of the handshake to push his political agenda.

The DP who was hosted by Obado pledged to work with the governor to bring development to the people of Migori.

“Is there a problem if I work with governor Okoth Obado? I will continue to work with him to deliver development to our people. I will not mind what is said of our closeness,” he said.

Political pundits have been waiting to see how ODM leader Raila Odinga will counter the Ruto wave that seem to be taking over his political backyard of Migori. It remains to be seen how he will do this but with his recent meeting with the leaders from Migori, it seems like plans are already underway and it is only a matter of time before they get unleashed.

Do you think Raila Odinga can counter the Obado-Ruto Wave in Migori?
