This comes as the Michuki rules are set to be effected from tomorrow in the effort to reduce road accidents which have been on the rise for a couple of months. The government want to ensure the rules are followed which are very much strict to matatu operators.

Some of the matatu operators especially in the city of Nairobi have vowed to strike because the rules have been imposed too soon without prior preparedness. Also those with grafitti have been complaining terming it as a move to destroy the matatu culture in the city.
I support the Michuki Rules Safety Belts, Speed Governors etc BUT scrapping of Graffiti and Interior Decors and Entertainment is so petty @FredMatiangi our H.E @UKenyatta endorsed Graffiti. Many youths depend on this Graffiti works. #SaveMatatuCulture pic.twitter.com/9f5jl9Clcg
