KOT angry at Judiciary for failing to deal with “Doctor” Mugo

KOT are to day angry at the judiciary and other relevant government authorities for failing to ‘deal’ with Kenya’s quack doctor, Mugo wa Wairimu.

For a man who has been charged with rape, illegally administering unknown drugs, operating a pharmacy without a license from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board and hiring unlicensed laboratory technology, why is he still walking around scot free?

Yesterday night, NTV aired an expose on the quack doctor who is operating a clinic in the heart of Eastlands, Kayole. From everything we have heard and seen, Mugo wa Wairimu seems like a powerful man who does not fear the authorities.

“I am back stronger, candid, daring and fearless. Like it or not but I’m back, my lessons fresh. Those who counted me out will be met with shock and disbelief,” he said in a Facebook post.

If anything, this expose just shows how Kenya’s judicial system has failed those it was meant to protect.

When he faced rape charges in 2015, the Court ruled that they could not charge Mugo with rape because they lacked evidence and  witness statements even though there emerged a video of him sedating a woman and raping her.

In the fridge in his clinic, Mugo keeps a bag that contains rapid HIV/Syphilis testing kits labelled Government of Kenya and Ministry of Health. However, these kits are not for sale so how did Mugo manage to obtain them?

Mugo was first exposed in 2015, the name of his clinic then was offering 24 hours health care services from all kinds of x-ray, ultrasound scans though he never had the equipment, dental surgery, major theatre among others and now three years later, Mugo is still operating another clinic without any formal documents.

So what happens to the unsuspecting patients and those who cannot afford decent healthcare? Who will proect them if the judiciary cannot do its job?
