Drama! Drama! Seems Bony Khalwale’s grudge with Raila Odinga is just starting if his sentiments are anything to go by.
The Ford Kenya assistant party leader came out guns blazing on Sunday afternoon when Deputy President William Ruto was in his weekend tour of the Western Region. The former Kakamega Senetor accused the ODM leader of playing with the mind of the Luhya Nation during the last general election.
Speaking at the function that was also attended by various western leaders among them Senate speaker and former Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka, Sports CS Richard Echesa among others, he dared Raila to continue campaigning in the region.
“We have made an early stand and it is well-known that we are supporting your presidency in 2022. Don’t do to us what Nasa leader Raila Odinga did to this community. Pick your running mate from western,” Dr Khalwale said in Mumias, Kakamega County.

Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa admitted that he had pleaded with both Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula and Mudavadi to join the Ruto bandwagon to no avail and challenged them to be fast since Raila Odinga was already going ahead of them again and was likely to get the full benefits of the partnership.
“When Jubilee won the 2017 elections, I reached out to my two elder brothers and invited them to work with the government, but they were reluctant until Mr Raila left them and joined us. I again asked them to join Mr Ruto for 2022 elections, but again they became sluggish. Now Mr Odinga has joined the government before them,” he said.
It then turned to be the lucky day for one kiosk trader where the DP took tea when his meeting was interrupted by the heavy rains pounding the area when he received a handsome amount from him as payment for the service – having made hot tea and chapati for him and the entire delegation.
“Yesterday a lucky Susan Mugasia served tea worth Sh250 to William Ruto and these VIPs at her kiosk at Shianda market in Kakamega. The Deputy President gave her Sh100,000 and told her to keep change,” Khalwale tweeted.

Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale challenged the DP to choose either ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi or Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula as his deputy come 2022 assuring him that the entire nation would be behind him when that time comes.
