Liverpool set to miss Henderson, Keita’s action in Arsenal clash

Captain Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita are both set to miss Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday.

The midfield duo have yet to return to full training at Melwood following recent hamstring injuries and are increasingly unlikely to feature in the capital.

Henderson has sat out Liverpool’s past two matches against Red Star Belgrade and Cardiff City since being forced off with a tight hamstring in the win at Huddersfield a fortnight ago.

Keita was hurt on International duty and hasn’t played for the Reds since the 0-0 draw with Manchester City in early October. Neither trained fully with their team-mates on Thursday.

In their continued absence, there’s likely to be a third straight start for summer signing Fabinho, who has impressed in a holding midfield role after a slow start to his Anfield career.

He suffered a neck injury during the pre-season tour of the United States and was taken to hospital after sustaining a back injury during the Champions League defeat to Napoli.

However, Keita was fit enough to substitute the stricken James Milner in the first half of the goalless draw with Manchester City a few days later.

Milner sustained a hamstring injury against City, which has also rendered him a major doubt for the trip to the John Smiths Stadium at the weekend.

Arsenal will be aiming to extend their unbeaten run in the league to eight while Liverpool would aim to preserve their unbeaten start to the Premier League.

Arsenal have confirmed Aaron Ramsey’s ‘rocket’ against Liverpool. Will he prove this in tomorrow’s clash?
