Forget About Dan Sserunkuma, Gor Mahia Have a New Hit Man

After letting Ivorian striker Ephraim Guikan leave, Kenya Premier League Champions Gor Mahia have rushed and secured the services of Ugandan Striker Erisda Sekisambu.

The former Vipers SC player has signed a two-year deal with the record Kenyan champions, who are strengthening the attacking department.

Gor Mahia Deputy Secretary General Ronald Ngala has confirmed that Guikan was on his way out and that the club will recruit Sekisambu as his replacement.

“Guikan is leaving, he requested for release for personal reasons and we had no alternative but to grant him his wish. We have rushed to sign Erisda Sekisambu as his replacement before the new season.

Mr. Ngala also confirmed the signing of Erisda Sekisambu from Vipers FC.

“We are happy to have signed him (Sekisambu), on a two-year deal. He is a great player with international experience and he will help us do well. We wanted to sharpen our attack and that is why we have gone for him; remember we have chased his signature for some time,” said Ngala.

Kenneth Muguna (FK Tirana), Shafik Batambuze (Singinda United), Nicholas Kipkirui (Zoo FC) and Pascal Ogweno (Kariobangi Sharks) are other players who have been signed by K’Ogalo.

Gor Mahia had earlier reiterated that they followed the right procedure in acquiring the services of  Zoo FC striker Nicholas Kipkirui.

K’Ogalo’s acquisition of the highly rated Kipkirui attracted a war of words between them and Zoo, who has since downplayed the new deal, saying that the Kenyan champions did not contact them on the deal.

Kipkirui still had a running contract with Zoo until the end of December but Gor Mahia insists that they did not break any transfer rule.

Gor Mahia are scheduled to play English Premier League Champions Everton at Goodison Park on the 6th of November.

Gor Mahia will make history as the first ever East African team to play on English soil.
