Shhhh! KOT tell Dennis Itumbi

There’s no stopping this guy. Secretary of Innovation, Digital and Diaspora Communication in the Office of the President, Dennis Itumbi has once again come under fire on Twitter.

Itumbi has recently publicly stood with Citizen TV journalist, Jacque Maribe who is currently in police custody at the Lang’ata Women’s Prison facing murder charges. Jacque Maribe and her fiance, are both accused of being involved in the murder of Monica Kimani who was found dead in a bath tub in her house in Kilimani, Nairobi County last month.

Dennis Itumbi yesterday penned down a prayer to his friend, Miss Maribe ahead of her bail hearing today. It is clear that Itumbi wants his friend out of prison as he made public a prayer for Jacque.

You would think that maybe KOT would join Itumbi in raising prayers for the accused but lo and behold, a good number of them told him to stop seeking for attention adding that he could pray in secret without letting the whole world in.

Here’s Itumbi’s public prayer:

I adopt this as my Public Prayer for my friend Jacque Maribe,(May Justice be done, I pray. Pray with me…)Dear…

KOT’s reactions:

So does Dennis Itumbi really care or is he just seeking for attention?

In his prayer, Itumbi claimed that if released on bail, Jacque said that she would try and end the pain of inmates who have been locked up for years because they cannot afford bail of amounts ranging from Ksh. 3,000 to Ksh. 10,000.

Itumbi and Jacque have for the longest time been believed to have a romantic relationship. However in an interview with pulse, Itumbi said that they have never actually dated claiming that they are only good friends.

“I am the kind of friend she would call when she has a puncture and she even knows my parents and I know her parents and friends. She knows where I live and I know where she lives but we are not dating. I think we dated more on the voices of print media and on the radio airwaves more than we actually had interacted,” said Itumbi.

“She is a very good friend. I met her in the media when I was working for People and she was at K24, that is how out friendship grew,” he added.

Jacque Maribe and her fiance today will today know their fate when they appear in court before Justice James Wakiaga who will give his ruling on their bail. The judge will also decide whether to grant an application by the prosecution led by Catherine Mwaniki to keep Miss Maribe off the TV screens.

The family of the late Monica Kimani represented by Mr. Herman Omiti are is also opposing the release of the two suspects saying that the family lives in fear. Mr. Omiti claimed that one family member had received a message from Mr. Irungu who wanted to know where he lived.

Only time will tell whether Jacque and her fiance will walk out free today.

In the meantime, what is your prediction of the ruling?
