Hellen Obado(L), Sharon Otieno(R)

Mr Grado Kithine Ocholla’s arrest brings to four the number of people accused of taking part in the September 3 killings.

Lead investigator Clement Mwangi from the Homicide Unit of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations said Mr Ocholla’s vehicle was used in the kidnap of Ms Otieno and Nation journalist Barrack Oduor from Migori town just hours before the murder.

Girlfriend of Migori Governor Okoth Obado, Ms Sharon Otieno, was abducted and later murdered. Her body was discovered at Kodera forest along with her unborn baby.

The post-mortem revealed that Sharon was brutally stabbed and also with the unborn baby then later raped by the assailants.

Governor Obado was linked to this case a long side Caspal Obiero and Michael Oyamo who have been custody for over a month now.

The three have denied the murder charges labelled against them.

Governor Obado was granted bail last week after the court found no sufficient evidence linking him to the Murder of Sharon and her unborn baby. She was granted a 5 million bail with two sureties of similar amount. But also Lady Justice Lessit issued tough bail conditions that Obado must abide by to retain his freedom.

The two Caspal and Michael were sent back to the remand as they wait for their next hearing of their bail application.

The hearing of the case has been pushed till next year May when the suspects are expected to be arraigned in court.

The family of Sharon has since buried their dead few days ago hoping that the court would give them justice.
