Insurance Company Does Monkey Business with H_art the Band

Famous and energetic Kenyan Band -H_art the band took to their social media to expose the frustration that they were put through  by a Kenyan Insurance company. This led to outrage among Kenyans  who shared similar experiences saying that this has to come to an end.

As revealed by the band, their vehicle was involved in an accident and  it took 5 months for the Insurance company to inform them that they will not fix their car even after they had earlier said that they were carrying out investigations.

In a long post, this is what they said. “On 5th May 2018 ,Our H_art Mobile Got into an accident on its way home hours after dropping us at the Airport for a short trip to Tanzania.

On learning about the accident while in Tanzania, we made it a priority to follow up with our insurance company, UAP INSUARANCE ,once we were back from the Small Safari.

We reported the case through our agent _& investigations began right away ( or so we thought ) .After back _& Forth with our agent, the insurance company finally sent an investigator to follow up on the matter.

We thought the process now would fast track because normally after investigation it takes Less than a week for Feedback to be Given, right?!? Wrong. She told us, she could only get the company car for 2 days a week _& those two day with our schedule were sadly our busy days. After a month of back _& Forth we Finally got our statement(s) written.

We thought now that it’s done, the process will fast track, Right?!? Wrong. Two Months down the Line, no Feedback has been given to us _& the car is still stuck at the garage .We go to upperhill to follow up _& they promise to email us the statement in 3days which doesn’t happen.

Five Months Later, UAP INSUARANCE send us a shallow email stating that they won’t be able to repair Our car for us _& we should pick it from their Garage. This Hit us hard.

How can you give a response Five Months Later without even a proper explanation as to why ?!? We try countering their decision but our plea falls on deaf ears. No one picks our calls anymore.

We get tired and decide to collect the car for repair at our local garage. It was only Logic, the monies we were spending on Car Hire _& Taxi was triple the amount we would use for the repairs .

We send our mechanic to pick the vehicle from the Garage. On the first day, they claim we have to pay storage fee for the 5months the car was in the Garage. How?!? Later we find out some parts of the car including but not limited to :the left headlight had been removed and apparently, they couldn’t find it. First they claimed it wasn’t there then Later they said it had been stolen by the watchman .Really?!?

Our numerous attempts to reach our insurance company UAP/OLD MUTUAL INSUARANCE _& the Garage Management have been Futile up to date.

We don’t understand what’s happening but what they are doing to us is wrong in many different ways. We are Young Kenyans using our talent to inspire a new generation _& make a name for ourselves. This back and forth is so unnecessary _& uncalled for. We just need our H_art Mobile Back” reads long post.

This post led to Kenyans outrage with some trying to give solutions that the group should have consulted insurance regulatory authorities whereas other went ahead to share similar experiences have a look at the reactions.
