“Salimianga watu…tellers hugeuka President” Uhuru Kenyatta celebrates his birthday

His Excellency the president Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta,turns 57 years today. Born on 26 October 1961, he is the son of Kenya’s founding father and first president, Jomo Kenyatta, and is the fourth President of Kenya, from April 9, 2013.

When he was growing up, Mr Kenyatta always shied away from politics, wanting to be seen as an ordinary person at ease with ordinary Kenyans.As a child born to a rich and powerful family, he went to one of the best schools in Nairobi before attending Amherst College in the US where he studied Political Science and Economics.

He is married to Margaret Gakuo Kenyatta and they have three children, Jomo, Jaba and Ngina Kenyatta.

He served as Deputy Prime Minister of Kenya under the administration of Prime Minister Raila Odinga and President Mwai Kibaki.

With his term ending in 2022 as the 4th ruling president of the democratic republic of Kenya , President Uhuru has since made it clear what he wants remembered for as his legacy .

Winning the war on Corruption and leaving a united country are at the core of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s priorities as regards his legacy. The president says these two own set targets will ensure growth in the country and Unity across the Nation. The President was speaking after he inaugurated the ultra modern Mpesa Foundation academy where he urged students to make integrity part of their goals.

For many Kenyans, President Uhuru Kenyatta is perhaps a son of fortune who has never had to work to sustain his living.
However, many will be surprised to know that the current President once worked as a waiter at the American fast food chain Burger King.

Kenyatta worked for the company in the 1980s during his stint in Massachusetts, USA where he was undertaking his undergraduate studies at the Amherst College.

After getting his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political science and Economics, Kenyatta returned to the country and started working as a cashier at the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB), Kipande branch.
He later quit and started his own business.
Unlike Burger King that is yet to appreciate its famous employee, KCB has in the past expressed its pride in their former cashier.
During the President’s 55th birthday, they took to social media where they wished him a happy birthday with a fun message, “Uhuru Kenyatta was once a teller at KCB. Happy birthday Mr. President! (As a side note; salimianga

He is expected to received congratulatory messages from politicians, family and friends.
