ODM’s “Mama Chungwa” Finally Get’s Her Wish

Mama Rosa Akinyi, better known as “Mama Chungwa” can finally see light at the end of the tunnel. The ODM fanatic recently lost her son and the ODM Party has rewarded her for her unending loyalty by offering to assist her during this trying moment.

The ODM Party had earlier helped her settle hospital bills for her son who was admitted at Kenyatta hospital before he unfortunately succumbed to his illness.

Mama Cungwa today had the opportunity to visit the Orange headquarters this morning to give the Party an update on the funeral arrangements for her son Victor Otieno who passed on early this week.

The Party  pledged to support Mama Chungwa during this trying moment.

“Roselyne Akinyi aka Mama Chungwa visited the Party Hq this morning to give us the update on the funeral arrangements for her son Victor Otieno who passed on early this week. The Party has pledged to support Mama Chungwa during this trying moment,” wrote the ODM Party on it’s twitter account.

For one decade, Mama Rosa Akinyi has been a staunch disciple of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). She even vowed to leave Kenya if Jubilee won the general elections.

Akinyi often wears colourful orange attires, complete with messages printed on boards and bright orange headgears to all ODM functions.

Akinyi has often said that her journey with the Odingas began with Ford-Kenya, then NDP (National Development Party), NARC (National Alliance of Rainbow Coalition) and now ODM. She says that even if Raila leaves ODM to form a ‘Jembe Party,’ she will gladly follow him.

She is such a Raila fanatic that she was fainted when she heard that the former Prime Minister had lost to President Uhuru Kenyatta in the 2013 general elections.

“I fainted when I heard that Raila had lost. I was told it was hypertension. I was rushed to the hospital, where the doctor jokingly  told me that, ‘Mama, hapa hatuna dawa ya Raila’.” she once told a local daily.

Mama Chungwa says she has met Raila severally, and that the former Prime Minister is very fond of her.

Online supporters of ODM have urged the party to consider nominating mama chungwa to a political post because of her unending support and loyalty for the party. They hailed her a true heroine for putting her life on the line defending the party.
