Arsenal boss Unai Emery has sent a message to Liverpool as their Emirates showdown looms on the horizon.
The Reds travel to North London a week on Saturday with both teams challenging at the top of the Premier League table.Arsenal were considered outsiders at the start of the season but a 3-1 home triumph over Leicester City on Monday evening was a 10th straight win in all competitions and moved them up to fourth, just two points behind Jurgen Klopp’s side.
And Emery – who masterminded Sevilla’s Europa League final win over Liverpool in 2016 before taking over at Arsenal in the summer – has revealed the Reds are in his sights.
“I think we need to continue with calm, each match is a big chance to continue in our way,” said Emery. “It was very important to win (on Monday), because Leicester are close to us.
“We are looking at who is in front of us, like Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea. “But it’s important for us to think about that at the end. We have to keep working to improve in our way and tactically, to find the best performance.”
Liverpool are unbeaten in the League and are joint top of the table with Champions Manchester City. The Reds travel to the Emirates Stadium in two weeks time to face an inform Arsenal who are unbeaten in the last ten matches and judging by current form, will most likely still be unbeaten when Liverpool visit their home turf.
