Trouble for “Mwakenya” dependents as exam begin

The National Examinations mood has began with form candidates doing the first papers today in schools across the countries.

The National Examination council of Kenya has assured the Kenyans and candidates about the state of exams saying they are still intact. The same sentiments have been re emphasized by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The President also issued a stern warning to parents who use other means to find exam papers and infiltrate the system of Examination in Kenya.

This also comes after the CS. Amina Mohammed reiterated on the issue and also assured all education stakeholders in Kenya that the system is intact and no cheating cases have been recorded so far.

This comes as the Exams in Kenya have had numerous cases of cheating and leaking of exam papers in most schools. In the previous year most candidates have had their results cancelled because of possession of exam papers.

The Ministry through the former Education CS Dr. Alfred Matiang’a have tried to impose harsh rules that have helped guard against the vice of cheating in exams in the country.

Most candidates have been affected and some parents criticized for being part of the cartels that are leaking exams in the country.

The KNEC officials and the Ministry have laid down a number of rules this year to curb exam cheating such as banning of prayer days in the schools especially boarding schools.

The Exam regulators have also undergone various checks to ensure they don’t leak the materials.

Some discussions were raised over shutting down of the internet during exam periods at it was viewed as the means the papers were being leaked to the public.
