Kenyans citizens have not have enough say on the matters of constitutional amendment. Most leaders have been calling for constitutional amendment without getting the mwananchi thoughts about the same matter who have the sovereign power to reject it or approve it.

Other leaders have also supported the idea . Deputy President who is not consistence on the issue of referendum also said he can only support the idea if it will reduce the wage burden and not to increase other political or administrative units in the country.
We're represented in numbers but we lack leaders who have our interests at heart. Better we reduce numbers of representatives to cut our huge wage bill. #TheReferendumWeWant

Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka have also taken a firm stand in pushing for the referendum. Ekuru Aukot is also on the move campaign to get numbers to present to the IEBC for constitutional amendment.
All this entities have seen the Government pump more than Sh1trillion into County Governments and Independent bodies, the windfall being a ballooning wage bill that is 15% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and an ever increasing public debt.#TheReferendumWeWant pic.twitter.com/gNvdHf9GAu

Some governors have also supported this call of constitutional reform the most vocal one being Mwangi Wa Iria who wants the referendum to focus on sharing of resources between counties in Kenya. Wycliffe Oparanya is also on a low gear pushing for reforms.
We know the problem is that white capital still runs this country and that our old school politicians want a referendum to make themselves, not us, comfortable. And in the end, the referendum will leave the logic of the market, driven by foreigners!

In all the debates the mwananchi has never been given an equal share to voice out their idea about the calls for devolution in the country. They have been given the back seat yet they have the powers vested in them.

Their ideas are overshadowed by self-centered political leaders who are busy pursuing their personal interests other than consulting the citizens who have the sovereign authority.
