Why Machakos Millionaire witchdoctor in car theft syndicate was set free

 

Flying squad officers  arrested two suspects in Machakos believed to be members of a syndicate involved in motor vehicle theft in the country.

After thorough investigations by the department of criminal investigations , the two business people among them prominent Machakos-based witchdoctor Annah Mutheu were set free by a Nairobi court after the prosecution failed to produce evidence linking them to car theft.

The duo appeared before Magistrate Elector Riany where the prosecution told the court that they had completed investigations and no evidence was found against them.

According to an application presented in court, the prosecution investigated if the two had criminal records involving motor vehicle theft.

The officers also carried out investigations to determine if identity cards recovered at Mutheu’s home had been reported missing or involved in committing crimes.

The DCI raided the home of Annah Mutheu in Machakos where they allegedly recovered three stolen vehicles and 112 national identity cards.

They questioned several people including members of her family and workers in connection with suspected links to motor vehicles stolen in different parts of the country.

“We have found engines, gear boxes and 130 national identity cards of different persons in the house. We find it interesting that the IDs were found here and we are still investigating the circumstances under which they found their way here,” Flying squad boss Musa Yego said during the raid.
