Another journalist dumps KBC to join Kanze Dena at Statehouse

Another journalist has quit media to join President Uhuru Kenyatta’s communications team.

Ruth Mutegi, who worked with the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) as a business reporter left the media house to join the State House staff.

She announced her new appointment to the Presidential Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU) via Facebook.

Ms Mutegi joined other journalists who were appointed to help communicate the President’s big four agenda plan.

Kanze was asked to focus on the President’s brand positioning, media relations and messaging with respect to the delivery of the Big Four Agenda.

State House also announced that former KTN Newsreporter Munira Mohammed would be joining the team as the deputy head of the PSCU and head of the Presidential Library.

On October 12, 2018 State House  confirmed Ms Kanze Dena as  Head of the President’s Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU).

The President’s decision was conveyed in a brief statement 12th October Friday afternoon by State House Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita who wished Ms Dena success and called on all stakeholders to support the new PSCU head success.

“We wish Ms. Dena success in her new role and ask all stakeholders including PSCU staff, the media and colleagues in government to accord her the support she needs to excel,” the statement read.
