Rogue HomaBay MCAs to be disciplined

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party to discipline all the MCAs who participated in the Homa Bay chaos

“The party does not condone any form of hooliganism and disorder in County Assemblies as has been reported in the case Homa Bay County Assembly. Disciplinary action will be taken against any member found to have orchestrated the chaos witnessed yesterday,” read a statement from the ODM party.

ODM has vowed to take action against rogue Homa Bay County MCAs who attacked their Speaker Elizabeth Ayoo.

The incident occurred when the Speaker was announcing to members the changes made in leadership positions.

Homa Bay county leaders  roughed up  their Speaker for allegedly being biased.

Deputy Speaker Evans Marieba and Homa Bay Central MCA Julius Nyambok protected the Speaker after some members started throwing bottles at her.

Ayoo tried to leave her seat for the chambers but some MCAs blocked her.

The situation became rowdy and prompted the sergeants-at-arm rushed the Speaker to her office and locked her in for more than an hour.

She later returned under tight security to adjourn the sitting for two weeks.

 

MCAs have been misbehaving in the county assembly,recently  in Kakamega County, chaos erupted after the MCAs impeached their Speaker Maurice Buluma and clerk Patrick Wafula over allegations of misuse of funds. also  Nyandarua County, after an  attempted  by the ward representatives to impeach Speaker Wahome Ndegwa for failing to recognise new leaders in the House.
