Five Photos that Prove Jacque Maribe has Powerful Friends

Embattled Citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe could be in custody at the moment and looking at a very long time in prison if found guilty of murder.

Jacque and her boyfriend Joseph ‘Jowie’Irungu have been charged with the murder of Monica Kimani. The offense happened on  the night of 19th September at the victim’s apartment in Lamuria Gardens along Denis Pritt road in Kilimani area.

Before this dark period in her life, Jacque had forged a career in the media industry as a senior political reporter for Citizen TV, a job that earned her several powerful friends.

Here we look at some of the friends she has made along the way.

President Uhuru KenyattaIn the runner-up to last year’s presidential elections, Jacque was the chief reporter for the Jubilee campaigns. She followed the President and his deputy on the campaign trail. Her job earned her the Prestigious head of State commendation (HSC) award.

But it is not only that, because it is through Jubilee that she met her gangster boyfriend Jowie. According to an affidavit, Jacque says she met Jowie at a Jubilee event at the Bomas of Kenya. At the time, Jowie was providing private security for former Taita Taveta Woman Rep Joyce Lay.

Deputy President William Ruto

Jacque is also very close to the Deputy President. She supposedly met the DP during one of her numerous visits to the State House or interactions during their interactions on the Jubilee campaign trail.

The journalist is also being represented by re known criminal lawyer Katwa Kigen. Katwa made a name for himself when he represented the DP at the Hague. Ruto was facing cases of crimes against Humanity which were related to the 2007 post election violence.

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko

Governor Sonko is a very powerful and influential politician both nationally and in Nairobi. Sonko has been arrested severally before he became a politician.

It is rumored that he has several pending court cases at the coast. Sonko could offer Jacque advice on how to rise above the courts and still make a name for yourself out of your misery.

Moses Kuria

The Gatundu South MP was in court on Wednesday to stand with Jacque Maribe at the hearing of her bail application. Kuria is a loyal friend who will stand with you in whatever circumstances.

He has also been arrested severally due to incitement, but has alway managed to maneuver his way out of prison. I don’t know what advice he gave to Jacque.

The question is, can these friends help Jacque?
