Sanchez arrived at Manchester United in January in a swap move which saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan join Arsenal.
However, the Chile international has struggled to settle into life at Old Trafford, scoring just four times since joining Jose Mourinho’s side.
And it’s been suggested that Sanchez’s relationship with the Red Devils manager could be on the rocks after the pair reportedly fell out over the forward’s role within the team.
It’s believed Sanchez has become increasingly unhappy at being played out of position by Mourinho.
So with Sanchez struggling with life in Manchester, some Arsenal fans have been discussing whether they would like to see him return to London.
Mega Gunners fan and AFTV contributor Lumos put the question to the Emirates faithful.
“Would you take Alexis Sanchez back?” he asked. “Thing’s ain’t going well for him at United, he’s fallen out with Mourinho… if he was offered on the table, you know we do kind of need a winger… would you take him back in the team or make him stay and rot at United?”
And unsurprisingly, many fans were deeply against the idea.
“We don’t want @alexis_officia1 back he was the negative factor in the team we are better without him the team is doing great on and off the field,” one fan wrote.
Another said: “I wouldn’t want him back he chose the money over the football so y should we have a player like that and We have been performing well and the team vibes are good without him so he can Do one (sic).”
“Absolutely not, he was an awful team player and prob passed the ball once or twice in his last year (sic),” a third fan wrote.
A fourth fan fumed: “Capital NO! As much as money is important…don’t let it be your motivation…Alexis made money he’s motivation that’s first and 2nd, as much as he showed passion, he was too self absorbed to be a team player! Good riddance.”
Another fan simply wrote: “No because he’s a snake.”
However, some supporters admitted they would like to see Sanchez return.
“I will take him back for sure. Cos he will only make us better,” one fan wrote.
Another said: “Yes he will be better again with our new manager and tactics!”
