Alain Migliaccio, agent to former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has revealed that the Frenchman quit Los Blancos because he was “emotionally drained”.
Zidane stunned the footballing world when he resigned as Real Madrid manager days after winning his hat-trick of UEFA Champions League titles at the club.
The former Real Madrid midfielder had a highly successful stint at the club winning the La Liga title in the 2016-2017 season and back to back FIFA Club World Cups. Zidane has been linked with a move to Manchester United in recent days following the club’s dismal results.
Migliaccio revealed the reason for Zidane calling it quits at Real Madrid.
“He was emotionally drained. He chose to spend a year out and he isn’t going to go back on that.” His agent also poured water on his possible move to England, “I do not think that he will manage in England. It is much less his style. I have discussed it with him, it does not really attract him. He has chosen to have a year out, he will not dive in again before that is over.”
