13th Nollywood  Excellence and Leadership Awards Edition 2018 nominee Connie Kabarry from kenya celebrates the award making Kenyans proud.

The Kenyan actress Consolate Mboga, popularly known as Connie Kabarry is making it big in Nigeria’s’ Nollywood since she was introduced by Nelson Chesere a Kenyan family friend who was on a visit to Nigeria in May last year. The friend to her surprise was a close ally of Nigerian actor and comedian John Okafor known as Mr Ibu.

When she mentioned that she was interested to feature in a Nollywood movie ,Mr Ibu invited her over to the country’s  Enugu estate to audition for a film role alongside actors Kenneth Okonkwo and Nkem Owoh. Her role secured her a direct place in the actors Guild of Nigeria

She had not gone to any film school or received any kind of training in acting but the opportunity in the Actors Guild enabled her to register her Nairobi based company Connie Kabarry Productions with Nigerian Company-Angelic Touch Production.

Connie has a Nigerian produced movie ‘Almost Perfect’ that Premiered on February 2 premiered at Prestige Plaza.It was shot and directed in Enugu state and directed by Jude Odoh and produced by her. She played the role of a woman caught up in a love triangle. It features fellow Kenyan Benta Auma( who plays Connie’s mother), renowned Nigerian actors, Nonso Diobi, Chiege Alisigwe and Dougad.

She is passionate about making movies in Nigeria and her sole mission is to create roles for Kenyan actors in her future movies as well as see Kenyan talent recognized and appreciated beyond East Africa.
