Jose Mourinho and his star midfielder have fallen out in recent weeks with several public rows, including an apparent training ground bust-up. It comes as United have had their worst start to a season since 1989 and have already fallen nine points off the Premier League pace-setters after just seven matches.

An uninspiring 0-0 draw at home to Valencia on Tuesday added to the club’s woes. But Keane has stuck up for the under-fire manager and launched a blistering rant at the state of modern footballers. “Make Keane the manager”Man Utd fan

“I’m not talking about Pogba,” he told Notts TV. “I’m talking about players in general.

“Players who get upset with a manager or a coaching staff and think ‘I’m not going to train properly because somebody upset me’. There’s a lot of crybabies out there.

“When you walk out on that pitch you’re playing for your pride, you’re playing for your family, you’re playing for your city, whatever it might be.

“Don’t get that worried about what the manager’s said about you, or the coaching staff, you get out there and play.

“You can follow it up after the match but, when the game’s going on, liven up.

“Play with pride, play with energy, play with spirit.Hopefullyplay with a bit of skill. But on your bad days you roll your sleeves up and you fight for that jersey. Don’t get distracted by the balloons out there.”

More than 140,000 people have seen the clip since it was posted to Twitter yesterday.

“Make Keane the manager, he’d put the social media darlings in place,” one wrote.

Another commented: “Keane formanager.”

“Fantastic mentality and extremely well said.”

Manchester United will make a quick decision over Jose Mourinho’s future this weekend if they lost to Newcastle, according to Paul Ince.

The Red Devils are winless in their last four matches in all competitions, including a Carabao Cup loss at home to Championship side Derby County.

Mourinho‘s men are currently tenth in the Premier League table and eight points behind leaders Manchester City and Liverpool.

The Portuguese coach has come under increasing pressure over his reported poor relationship with Paul Pogba and the apparent disharmony among the squad.

And Ince, who claims he would “hate” to see Mourinho sacked, thinks that United could make a decision over his future depending on their result against Newcastle on Saturday.

“If they lose on Saturday evening, particularly if it’s a bad loss, there will be a decision made on Jose Mourinho’s future very quickly,” Ince told Paddy Power.

“If they don’t get a result against Newcastle this weekend, Jose Mourinho is in real danger.

“He won’t walk, because that’s not in his character. I hate the thought of Jose being sacked.

“But, If you’re not picking up results and there’s this black cloud hanging around Old Trafford, your time as manager is running out.

“The signs are not looking good for him. The fact is, United are no better off than they were before Mourinho.

“In the past, you’d say United aren’t the kind of club to just sack a manager.

“But it seems that is what they’re like now.”
