Why the increase in Murder cases in Kenya?

Monica Kimani, Sharon Otieno and little girl Maribel are the latest victims of rising murder cases. Monica was found killed in her home with her throat ripped through . Pregnant Sharon on the other was kidnapped and dumped dead in a thicket . Detectives are holding suspects in connection to their gruesome killings Morality and ethics in general has diminished in our societies so bad that people are now witnessing poor parenting and appetite for quick money.

Coupled with both mental and maybe physical stress as people struggle to conform to the societal pressures, Kenyans believe these are some of the key catalysts fanning murder cases across the country.

Domonic Kathambula observed during a poll conducted by TUKO.co.ke on Friday, September 28, strife resulting to disagreements on financial matters since people fear to live a life without purpose, hence some decide to eliminate whatever stands on their way. “This hardship caused by increase of price to everything, slay queens demands for the best and sponsors being unable to accomplish their promises drives people to choose the option of eliminating the source of anguish,” he said.

“Almost whole world u can hear murder, of which is part of prophesied endtimes event.people will be brutal, unforgiving, evil, wicked , arrogant, will curse n kill their parents, will blasphemy, prioritize money than God,” one David Mwenda Ntundu noted. This latest murder is just one among many cases of the increasing wave of killings targeting women in most parts in less than three weeks. The statistics could be higher than imagined as most cases may go unreported, though government agencies are currently probing at least four public cases.

Rongo University Sharon Otieno and a 9-year-old Maribel Kapolon daughter of Meru magistrate were separately kidnapped and later found dead. Before dust could settle, family of a Nairobi businesswoman Monica Kimani reported their daughter had been killed in her Kilimani home on Thursday, September 20. Monica was given an emotional send off yesterday, Friday, September 27, in her father’s Nakuru home.

So far, police are holding one suspect identified as Joseph Kuria Irungu, a lover to Citizen TV’s Jacque Maribe, in connection with the murder. On Thursday, September 27, Jacque presented herself to Kilimani Police Station to record a statement. On the other hand, Migori Governor Okoth Obado and four other suspects are in police custody in connection with Sharon’s murder while detectives are still questioning ex-lover to Maribel’s mother who is believed to have cut short life of the little girl.
