What Jacque Maribe had to say about Monica’s Murder

After detectives tirelessly looked for citizen TV’s Jacque Maribe for the entire Thursday, she finally went to Kilimani Police station and reported a statement with the police over Monica Kimani’s murder.

Maribe told detectives that she was not familiar with Monica and she only knew about her when she broke the news of her gruesome murder on Citizen TV.

She also revealed that she had once seen her boyfriend Joseph Irungu alias Joe Jowie with a gun in her house and warned him against keeping it there.

Sleuths are still in search of the pistol which the journalist saw; they believe Irungu was in illegal possession of the gun.

She intimated that on Friday, September 21, Jowie arrived home shot and injured and she was forced to drive around several hospitals in search of medical assistance.

After the alleged shooting, Maribe and Irungu told the police they went to Nairobi West, Lang’ata and Kijabe Mission Hospitals.

They, however, gave contradictory statements on the shooting – they initially stated the attack happened indoors only to later mention it took place outside.

Irungu reported that he was shot after he dropped Maribe in her house at around 1:30 am.
