Investigations into the murder of Monica Kimani continue to unearth inconsistencies in Jacque Maribe’s statement.
The Citizen TV news anchor, is a person of interest in the investigations after police arrested and subsequently charged her boyfriend Joe Irungu for murder on Wednesday.
Police, are currently looking for the journalist, who has not reported to work since Tuesday and is not picking her calls.
According to an earlier statement, Maribe is said to have driven her boyfriend to Nairobi West hospital after he was shot by unknown gunmen at her gate on the night of September 21st.
According to Maribe, the couple had arrived at their apartment in Royal Park Estate, Langata at around 1.20 AM, when Irungu spotted three guys at the gate. He dropped his girlfriend inside before going out to confront the guys.
This is the time, he was apparently shot in the chest. He shared the pictures on Social media. Guards at the estate say they did not hear gunshots on the night and no cartridges were found at the scene.
Jacque says, she was drank but managed to driver her boyfriend to Nairobi West Hospital where they were attended to and send home.
It is not clear, why the couple went to Langata hospital on the same night. Irungu’s lawyers also say that the two went to Kijabe hospital to seek treatment. Kijabe hospital is 65 kilometers from Nairobi. How did a drank Maribe manage to drive to all these hospitals? It is not also clear what the two were looking for.
