Liverpool blames VAR after Chelsea loss

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has questioned the VAR after it missed an offiside ahead of Chelsea’s first goal against his side.

The Liverpool head coach believes a number of players were offside prior to Emerson scoring the equaliser at Anfield. The matter was referred to VAR but no indiscretion was found.

“I think the first goal is offside,” Klopp said. “I don’t think the ref has to see it (VAR). For me, three players are offside – two for sure, everybody can see that, and even Barkley, not a lot, but he’s offside as well. They watched it and didn’t think it was offside. We have to take it.”

According to Klopp, Naby Keita’s foul which resulted in the free-kick that led to Chelsea first was not a foul.

“No, I don’t think so. He plays the ball, it’s not even a high foot. The linesman was in a good position and he gave a throw-in. It’s unfortunate, there was so much in the game and these moments decide it, so it makes it a pity, Klo[[ said when asked if he thought the incident merited the award of a free-kick
