Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua today faulted the road project that is estimated to cost Kenya about sh 380 Billion. Mutua has said that the cost is extreme and right now Kenya cannot afford that.
1 billion/kilometer is extreme. Unexplainable and Kenya right now cannot just afford this! We need to rethink how we are doing things. #JeffInTheMorning @KoinangeJeff

This comes a few months after the US announced that it will fund construction of an expressway between Nairobi and Mombasa, following the revelation of how much this would cost, the price made Kenyans raise brows. The road will be on a stretch of upto 466 km.
The 466 kilometres expressway has been faulted by economic analysts for being an unnecessary project.
KOT also backed Mutua on this with some complaining that already Kenya is in a huge debt n there are much greater concerns which the government should address.
That’s our 254. Instead of cracking down on fuel adulation by thieves oligarchy punish that poor old cucus by raising bei ya mafuta taa, while mercury sugar importing thieves give us cancer their duties(billions) are waived , WHAT MADNESS IN 254. FOR REAL ????

Its called MEGA GREED than even gets to taxing the mwananchi further for the basic purpose of plundering the proceeds. At times you wonder; in who’s interest are some of these decisions made?

I always wonder who actually approves such costs. As @BenjiNdolo says ‘why are we like this’ rotren society. Our kids and grandchildren will heavily carry the burden to eternity. Lest we change
