Arsenal boss terms EPL as the toughest in the world

Arsenal manager Unai Emery admitted that the English Premier League is the toughest league to manage.

Emery has moved to the Emirates Stadium this summer having previously managed in Ligue 1, LaLiga and Russia. The Spaniard’s Gunners career began with two defeats on the bounce but Sunday’s 2-0 win over Everton was their fifth consecutive victory in all competitions and leaves them 6th in the table heading into Saturday’s clash with Watford. The 46-year-old has explained just what makes the Premier League so demanding.

“It’s very hard,” Emery told Sky Sports at Fifa’s The Best awards on Monday. They are very great teams here and every match, like yesterday against Everton, is very difficult. [There are] very good players, I think the best players and best teams in the world in this competition, they are here.”

Emery has made a number of changes to the playing style Arsenal were known for under Arsène Wenger and though there have been many teething problems so far, the former Paris Saint-Germain boss has praised his players for their attitude and application since the start of the season.
