Migori Governor Okoth Obado denied murdering his pregnant girlfriend today during the hearing of his case at Milimani Court. This comes days after the Governor spent three nights in police cells, he was arraigned in court this morning as his investigators linked him to the murder of Sharon Otieno.
Obado’s lawyers requested that he be released on bail but the high court judge Lessit ordered that the bail request be heard tomorrow.
Governor Obado will spend the night in the Industrial Area Prison as he waits for his case to be heard tomorrow at around 2pm.
Earlier, in a statement issued by the DPP’s office on Sunday said Mr Haji had directed the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to ensure that the hitmen and other persons who have been adversely mentioned in the case are arrested.
The court allowed police to continue holding him for 14 days.
