Another night Behind bars for Obado after denying charges

Migori Governor Okoth Obado will spend another night in industrial area police cells after pleading not guilty to charges linking him to the murder of the slain Rongo University Student Sharon Otieno.

This comes days after the Governor spent three nights in police cells at Gigiri  where he was arraigned in court on Monday and was expected to be charged with the murder of Sharon Otieno.

Obado’s lawyers demanded that he be released on bail but the high court judge Lessit ordered that the bail request be heard tomorrow at 2pm.

Earlier, in  a statement issued by the DPP’s office on Sunday said Mr Haji had directed the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to ensure that the hitmen and other persons who have been adversely mentioned in the case are arrested.

The court allowed police to continue holding him for 14 days.
