Jurgen Klopp has picked a very strong XI today, with Xherdan Shaqiri joining Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum in midfield! James Milner and Naby Keita are on the bench, but the controversial decision is that Joe Gomez is on the bench with Joel Matip starting!
The Cameroonian has so far only come off the bench, but he’s not done very well and supporters are confused by the decision. That being said, we should trust Klopp implicitly. Liverpool are six wins from six and we need to back the XI every time they step on the field.
Southampton are without Danny Ings, with Shane Long starting up top on his own.
Here’s how Reds reacted:

As much as I don't like Matip but he needs to be ready and it's a good game for him to play

I like the team we have put out today. Gave a couple of players a good rest and is still attacking which we need against these teams that will sit back. Putting Matip in is smart imo as he is a good passer that can break the lines which could be crucial in a game like today.

Interesting to see Matip start but hey we need to give him game time too. Seems like an ok game to play.
Come on reds get behind the lad! Nice rest for Gomez too 👌🏼
