Police have said that Migori Governor Okoth Obado will spend the weekend in custody, awaiting to be charged for the heinous murder of Rongo University Student Sharon Otieno.
The new development comes after Obado was arraigned by detectives at DCI headquarters in Nairobi to be grilled for the second time over the death of his girlfriend.
Detectives said that, a Paternal test conducted on Sharon’s unborn baby revealed that Obado was the father making the governor a person of interest in investigations.
Last week, the governor released a statement saying that he had nothing, and absolutely nothing to do with Sharon’s murder.
“As a law abiding citizen, I want to state here very clearly that I have nothing… and absolutely nothing… to do with the cruel death of Sharon,” stated the embattled Governor.
But investigations took another turn when detectives managed to impound the car which is believed to have transported Sharon to her murder scene.
The car, a Toyota fielder is said to belong to one of Obado’s Aides.
