Did Obado’s Arrest mean to sway Public from Tax Attention?

Moments after President Uhuru Kenyatta signed the 2018 Financial Bill into law, Migori governor Okoth Obado  was arrested over the murder of slain Rongo University Student Sharon Otieno.

Mr Obado was on Friday morning grilled by detectives at the headquarters of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Kiambu Road in Nairobi. He spent the better part of the morning with detectives.

His arrest comes a day after detectives and government scientists confirmed that the baby boy ripped from Ms Sharon Otieno’s womb was his, thus putting the Migori governor at the heart of investigations into the abduction and killing of the Rongo University student.

Sharon’s mutilated body was found in a thicket in Kodera forest, Homabay County two days after she had been lured to abduction by Michael Oyamo, Obado’s PA who is also in custody.

Police have also impounded a Toyota Fielder, the car believed to have transported Sharon to her slaughter. The car is said to belong to Hellen Obado’s aide.

Kenyans have now posed questions on social media regarding Obado’s arrest, with some claiming that it was a strategy to sway Kenyan’s attention from the controversial finance bill 2018 that just became a law.
