Oyamo to be Held in Police Custody for another 14 Days

The Personal Assistant to Migori Governor Michael Oyamo has been denied bail at the Milimani law courts in Nairobi.

Oyamo will be detained at Muthaiga Police station for 14 days pending charges on his case over Sharon Otieno’s muder, a Rongo university student as prosecution asks for more time to complete probe.

He was produced at the milimani law courts in Nairobi today to be charged alongside a former member of county assembly said to have played a role in the whole saga leading to the murder of the Rongo University student.

Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti confirmed that Sharon’s case was moved from Homa Bay to Nairobi following public’s attempt to attack him when he was first presented in the court last week.

The two are being arraigned as detectives analyse a statement taken Tuesday from the Migori Governor who is set to be questioned further on Wednesday but has denied any role in the murder plot.

According to the police, the DNA samples taken from Governor Obado are still under analysis to verify Sharon’s claims that he was responsible for her 7 month pregnancy.

Sharon was abducted alongside a Nation reporter Barrack Oduor while in the company of Obado’s PA Oyamo who left them with attackers, but the reporter freed himself and fled.
