Leroy Sane left the Germany camp for personal reasons, the German football association said on Friday.
Sane, 22, came off the bench in Germany’s goalless draw with France in the UEFA Nations League opener on Thursday, but Germany will be without Sane when they host Peru in a friendly at Hoffenheim’s Rhein-Neckar-Arena in Sinsheim on Sunday.
Although further details were not disclosed, Bild reported that Sane’s girlfriend is expecting and thus the winger was allowed to leave the camp.
Sane last started a competitive game on Aug. 5, when he came off at half-time of Manchester City’s Community Shield victory over Chelsea, and he was dropped from City’s matchday squad in the victory over Newcastle United on Sept. 1.
He has won 11 caps for Germany since his debut in a friendly against France on Nov. 13, 2015.
