Mourinho is broken heartbroken here is why

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho in a post-match press conference revealed that he was left “heartbroken” by dropping Ander Herrera and Scott McTominay in the 2-0 win over Burnley.

Spaniard Ander Herrera was dropped from the starting 11 after starting in the 3-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur while Scot McTominay was dropped from the entire matchday squad.

McTominay has been named in the first three matchday squads and even made an appearance in the 2-1 win over Leicester City in the opening game of the season.

Herrera replaced Jesse Lingard after a red card was shown to Marcus Rashford but The Portuguese admitted that he wasn’t happy with the decision to drop them, “The week was so good. I felt so bad leaving out people like Ander Herrera and Scott McTominay. It was heartbreaking to leave them out of the team.”

Mourinho was happy with the team’s performance after the crushing 3-0 loss to Spurs and also lauded Fellaini,

“The three points were an important thing. The quality of the performance and happiness of the team is an Old Trafford response – the way Old Trafford reacted to the boys in the Spurs defeat was important. Fellaini is our best player in the air. In spite of Matic, Paul, they are also big guys, Marouane in the air is not just the best for us, probably one of the best in the Premier League.”

Manchester United next face a trip to Watford who have won all their four premier league games on Saturday 15th September.
