Kenyans ‘burst’ after DP Ruto’s NHIF remarks

The Government plans to review remittances by workers to the National Hospital Insurance Fund to match their earnings, Deputy President William Ruto has said.

Mr Ruto said those receiving high salaries should pay more to NHIF so as to fill the gap left by the vulnerable members of the society who are not able to remit huge figures.

He said currently the maximum monthly contribution to NHIF was Sh 1,700 for the high earners, a figure he said was too little. We intend to review the remittances to NIHF so as to match what we earn. Those who earn higher salaries can pay more to NHIF compared to those who earn less,” said Mr Ruto.

The news came as a surprise for Kenyans who took to social Media to discuss the move…

Fuel comes before health, of-course

Not sure about this but…

Did you know?
