The Government plans to review remittances by workers to the National Hospital Insurance Fund to match their earnings, Deputy President William Ruto has said.
Mr Ruto said those receiving high salaries should pay more to NHIF so as to fill the gap left by the vulnerable members of the society who are not able to remit huge figures.
He said currently the maximum monthly contribution to NHIF was Sh 1,700 for the high earners, a figure he said was too little. We intend to review the remittances to NIHF so as to match what we earn. Those who earn higher salaries can pay more to NHIF compared to those who earn less,” said Mr Ruto.
The news came as a surprise for Kenyans who took to social Media to discuss the move…
Fuel comes before health, of-course
The government wants to increase contribution to NHIF!…. why is this administration so insensitive to common Mwanachi?….. we are yet to come into terms with 16% VAT on fuel!

Not sure about this but…
The only good thing about DP is he puts money where he has guys to loot back for him, like NHIF so far he has pumped in 22M, Samburu goat auction 12M and Kajiado 10M, wait until the scandal unfold at NHIF

Did you know?
DP Ruto wants those earning more to increase their NHIF deductions. Did you know since 1963 to 2018 we have a total of 33 ICU beds in KNH?
We're adding 0.4 ICU beds per year to KNH but funding increased from 1.5Bn Kshs under Kibaki to 7Bn+ Kshs under Koros.#FinancialStandard

Really?
When @WilliamsRuto proposes that NHIF rates should be increased, do not for a moment imagine it is to your interest;he is looking for money to spend in the next goat auction. NHIF is that cash cow ! RESIST

Finally!
Politics Aside, Kajiado Issue is different 10m for 1400 goats that's roughly Ksh.7000 each .Fair price for a healthy goat and in that case 5000 family's get NHIF medical Cover. Good Job!! DP William Ruto & Ole Lenku
