Arsenal boss Emery blasted by Spurs ace

Lucas Moura has hit out at Arsenal manager Unai Emery for the treatment he received when the two were together at Paris Saint Germain.

The 26-year-old was one of the most sought-after youngsters in world football when he joined PSG from Sao Paulo in 2013 and he developed into a key player for the French champions with the 2016/17 campaign a particular highlight when he provided 19 goals and 10 assists in his 53 appearances.

However, the Brazilian winger was subsequently frozen out by then PSG boss Emery the following season with Moura only making a handful of appearances in the first team before being forced to leave the Parc des Prince in January 2018.

The 26-year-old made a £25m switch to Tottenham and after taking some time to adjust to life in the Premier League during the second half of last season, the South American has hit the ground running this campaign.

He has already netted three goals in three matches for Spurs and has now opened up on the disastrous second season under Emery at PSG. Moura has described his time at the French side as the worst seven months of his life saying Unai never used him even in practice games at training.

“It was very hard, the worst seven months of my life. I came from a very good season, I was the second top scorer of the team, only behind Cavani. The following season, I wasn’t even called up. I used to go to practice, I wasn’t even in the game. I used to go back home,” said Moura when quizzed about life under Emery.

“Anyway, it was very difficult. But I kept working hard, strong. And God gave me the best gift of life, my son,” he added.

Emery registered his first win of the season as an Arsenal boss when his side beat West Ham United 3-1 on Saturday.
