Too much? Jose Mourinho reveals frustrations at Man Untd

Mourinho’s frustration at Manchester United was laid bare over the summer after what he perceived to be a lack of support from Ed Woodward in the transfer window.

The Portuguese tactician had made it his priority to sign a top centre-back, although a handful of targets slipped through the net, including Leicester star Harry Maguire and Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld, while Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin snubbed United on deadline day.

Mourinho was also very vocal in expressing his displeasure about the lack of quality in his squad during pre-season with some of players holidaying after World Cup duties.

United have had a rocky start to the season and Mourinho is widely fancied to become the first Premier League manager to get the boot.  Mourinho would have quit if he had been in charge of any side instead of the Red Devils.

Mourinho’s anger has been well documented and it is reported he privately told friends he would have walked out in protest. He has rarely made it past the third season of a club he has managed, with fractious relationships often contributing to his downfall.

The Mirror suggest that Mourinho has no desire to leave Old Trafford and is determined to succeed.

Although he was given a two-year contract extension back in January, Mourinho has had problems trying to keep some players happy.

Paul Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, is trying to push through a move to Barcelona for the midfielder, but United are refusing to sell before next week’s deadline in Spain.

Mourinho, meanwhile, refused to single out players for criticism after the 3-2 defeat tO Brighton last Sunday.

He said: “We were punished by the mistakes we made. For me that’s the story of the game. We made incredible mistakes in some crucial moments. Mistakes that killed us.”

United will hope to rectify their form when they host Tottenham in the Bank Holiday Monday clash .
