Three Premier League stars switch to Seria A

Simon Mignolet’s agent has revealed that Napoli are in talks to sign the Liverpool goalkeeper adding that “He deserves a top club.”

Alisson’s arrival at Liverpool has demoted Mignolet to third choice, while Napoli are keen to land a shot-stopper before Friday’s deadline, with Alex Meret nursing an arm injury and Orestis Karnezis unconvincing.

“We’re in talks but there’s no agreement yet, although it’s in the interests of the clubs to find one,” Nico Vaesen told La Derniere Heure.

“Liverpool would like to keep him, but Simon wants to play and must play. He deserves a top club.

“For [Napoli], Mignolet is their best option in terms of quality, but we must also consider the economic aspect.”

Meanwhile Serie A new boys Frosinone have agreed a deal to sign Arsenal winger Joel Campbell.

Gianluca Di Marzio’s website reports Frosinone will sign Campbell permanently once he undergoes a medical on Thursday.

The Sky Sport journalist also expects the Costa Rican to put pen to paper on a three-year contract.

The 26-year-old joined Arsenal in 2011 but went on to make just 40 appearances for the Gunners, while spending time out on loan at Lorient, Real Betis, Olympiakos, Villarreal and Sporting CP.

The fee should be minimal, considering Campbell’s Arsenal deal expires next summer.

In other news Tiemoue Bakayoko has thanked Milan for ‘believing in me’ after completing his transfer from Chelsea.

Bakayoko left Chelsea after just one season to join Milan on loan with an option to buy, and the midfielder spoke of his desire to repay the Rossoneri for their ‘support’.

“Milan, thank you for believing in me and for all your support… We’re ready to tackle to new season!” he wrote on Instagram.

He also had some words for the victims of the bridge disaster in Genoa, which killed at least 31 people.

“My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and families affected by this unfortunate tragedy,” concluded the Frenchman.

Sampdoria have set their sights on Chelsea and England Under-21 international star Tammy Abraham.

According to Sportitalia, the centre-forward is on the radar as a possible reinforcement in attack at Marassi.

It’s likely this would only be a loan deal, perhaps with option to buy, as Chelsea are eager to keep hold of him.

Still only 20, Abraham scored seven goals in 19 caps for England at Under-21 level and already has two senior appearances under his belt.

He spent last season on loan at Swansea City, scoring eight goals with five assists in 39 competitive games.

Abraham is considered the more likely option compared to Zenit striker Sebastian Driussi.
