Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has insisted that he needs a third oil anointment to strengthen his faith.
This came after he asked his critics not to underestimate him or his capability because he had been anointed twice by different priests and is currently seeking fresh anointment oil for the third time.
Just this month, the politician said he was considering asking a priest to anoint him with fresh holy anointing oil.
According to Waititu, “People should know that the anointment oil was poured on my head a long time ago… to be precise, twice by different priests. I am now seeking fresh anointment oil to strengthen my faith.”
Earlier last year during Jubilee Party primaries, former Kiambu governor William Kabogo allegedly said that some politicians in the county had consulted witchdoctors so as to have more votes a term that was directed to Governor waititu who was his Jubilee competitor in Kiambu, however Waititu disagreed with his rival terming that he is God-fearing and not involved in witchcraft.
The politician shared a podium during a church service with Deputy President William Ruto. He advised Ruto to be cautious of ODM leader Raila Odinga.
He further added saying, “I have worked with Raila for so many years and I know his tactics very well. I was a councillor then a deputy mayor when he was Lang’ata Mp and we worked closely, so the DP should be very careful because he can easily be written off.
Even if Raila tells you to close your eyes for prayers, don’t, keep your open!” Waititu told the congregation at AIPCA church in Kayole.
However the Kiambu county boss is not new to controversy from throwin g stone in the name of protest among others.
This is his first term as Governor of Kiambu after he took over from former Governor Kabogo. However it has been reported that he might not be defending his seat come 2022 if and when he fails to deliver to the people of Kiambu.
Mr Waititu has premised the success or failure of his leadership on the war against the brews, adding that if he fails, he will not be a worth leader.
He said nothing including court battles would stop him from completely eradicating the killer brews from the county.
He said President Uhuru Kenyatta is fully behind his efforts to eliminate the illicit brews from the county.
In his statenment he said, “It is now or never. We must win the fight against the killer brews and save the youth and families from ruining their lives.”
The governor’s sentiments came after he hired former National Authority for the Campaign Against Drug Abuse boss Mr John Mututho to oversee the illegal brew eradication program.
Mr Waititu revealed that he had already sued manufacturers of various alcoholic beverages whose products are alleged to have caused the deaths of their consumers.
