Its over for Rich Mavoko and Diamond

Image result for Rich mavokoTanzanian musician Rich Mavoko has ended his ties with Diamond’s record label Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB) after he was allowed to terminate his contract with label.

Basata a Tanzania’s arts and music board okayed Mavoko’s request to ditch the company 2 years-and-2 months of partnership.

It not clear on why the singer decided to terminate his partnership with the record label though in a previous interview he insinuated that the WCB management was bent on overworking him.

According to Rich Mavoko, in an  interview with Kwanza TV, said that  Diamond Platnumz was constantly on his case, goading him to release several songs without taking a break.

He further added saying that he, sometimes, avoided Diamond Platnumz because the “Love You Die” star only held work-related conversations with him, and nothing else.

The “Follow Me” star said the WCB management only wanted things done their way, without putting into consideration his desires.

Rumours of Mavoko’s itch to ditch WCB, following his dissatisfaction at the company, first surfaced in June, 2018.

Some quotas, however, claimed Rich Mavoko was expelled from WCB.

WCB management, led by Babu Tale, is yet to comment on Rich Mavoko’s case.

Prior to joining WCB, Mavoko was signed to Kenya’s Kaka Empire, a record label that is owned by king Kaka who also doubles up as a musician.

Rich Mavoko signed a contract with WCB in June 2016, The uncertainty surrounding Mavoko’s contract with WCB has now been settled. The singer is now free to leave Diamond’s record label.

WCB Wasafi has signed number of artistes from Tanzania who have successfully got their music across Africa and some of them even being nominated on BET Awards, MTV Africa Music Awards and AFRIMMA.

They include, Lavalava, Rayvanny, Queen Darleen, Mbosso and Harmonize.

He signed a contract to become the first ambassador to the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Solar for Education (S4E) campaign. Solar for Education campaign is an initiative of the WWF Regional Office for Africa (ROA) Energy Hub piloted in 2015 by WWF Tanzania to demonstrate the opportunities renewable energy solutions can provide to the social economic transformation in Africa.

After successfully building his brand in Tanzania, Rich Mavoko was featured in 2015 in Kenya’s Rabbit Kaka Sungura on their song “Njoo” and after the musical project, it seems that Mavoko fell in love with Kenya. Mavoko was signed by King Kaka into his Kaka empire records
