Born on October 26, 1961, Kenya’s fourth president Uhuru Kenyatta is today celebrating his birthday. The 55-year-old son of the first president of Kenya, Jomo Kenyatta, is celebrating his birthday on the third anniversary of his position as the president of Kenya. There are, however, some few facts you may not have known about your president. We highlight five of them here. Some of them may actually surprise you. 1. Did you know that Uhuru Kenyatta was a bank teller at the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB)’s Kipande house branch on Kenyatta Avenue, Nairobi? Now you know. He worked as a bank teller for KCB between 1979 and 1980. He was based at KCB’s Kipande House branch on Kenyatta Avenue in Nairobi and he earned about KSh 600.

2. He got married at the age of 30 years. He married Margaret Wanjiru Gakuo in 1991 and they have been together for 24 years now. They have been blessed with three children, Ngina Kenyatta, Jomo Kenyatta and Jaba Kenyatta.

7. He slept in State House when his Father was the President, but it was never his home

When Jomo Kenyatta was the President, Uhuru Kenyatta spent very little time in State House despite his Father being there.
