With the Premier League’s transfer window closing prior to the opening day of the season, clubs have less time to prepare their teams and get their business done.
As a result, some have been extremely busy in the opening weeks of the window, looking to get ahead of their rivals while others are yet to conclude any serious business.
Below is a comprehensive list of all the ins and outs involving Premier League clubs so far this summer, including loan spells but not players released without a new team.
Bernd Leno

Since the departure of Jens Lehmann, Arsenal have struggled in terms of their goalkeepers with Petr Cech a shadow of the man bought from Chelsea.
And the club have now looked to combat that with the signing of Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen. The German played 304 times for Leverkusen during his time at the club, keeping 100 clean sheets in all competitions.

Following the departure of Arsene Wenger and arrival of Unai Emery, Arsenal were quick to look at some of their weaker positions to strengthen.
As a result, in came right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner to provide some stability in defence after seven seasons with Juventus in which he won seven Serie A titles.

David Brooks

Bournemouth’s first signing of the summer, David Brooks joined on July 1 from Sheffield United after the Cherries fought off reported interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.
The 20-year-old played 37 times for Sheffield United and was part of England’s winning squad at last year’s Toulon Tournament, scoring in the final, before switching allegiance and represented Wales at senior level.
Florin Andone

To: Brighton and Hove Albion

Brighton’s first senior signing of the summer, Florin Andone joins the club looking to improve on a sub-standard final season with Deportivo.
The Romanian made just 16 starts in La Liga, scoring just six goals as Deportivo were relegated from the Spanish top flight.
Leon Balogun

To: Brighton and Hove Albion

With manager Chris Hughton looking to build on his defence as Brighton begin a second season in the Premier League, Nigerian centre-back Leon Balogun was brought in from German side Mainz.
The 30-year-old played just 14 times for Mainz last season as he dealt with injury problems, but this did not quash Brighton’s interest nor stop Balogun from represented Nigeria at the World Cup in Russia.
Jason Steele

Mathew Ryan impressed a lot for Brighton last term but the club were lacking in a good back-up goalkeeper with Tim Krul like to leave at some point in the summer.
As a result, the club brought in Jason Steele from Sunderland on a free transfer. Last season for the Black Cats, Steele made 18 appearances as they were relegated to League One.
Alex Smithies

Looking to improve on their last spell in the Premier League which spread just one season, Cardiff also brought in goalkeeper Alex Smithies on a three-year deal from QPR.
The 28-year-old made 108 appearances for QPR after joining from Huddersfield in 2015, and will contest to be Cardiff’s number one this season.
Greg Cunningham

Cardiff’s arrival in the Premier League also saw them able to bring in Greg Cunningham from Preston North End, having chased the defender last summer.

Initially joining the club on loan in January from Monaco, Huddersfield made Terence Kongolo’s move permanent in the summer after an impressive spell.
Playing on the left side of defence, either at left-back or as part of a back three, Kongolo was a key member of the Huddersfield side which fought off relegation a confirmed a second consecutive Premier League season.
Ramadan Sobhi

Not content on sticking with their current squad, Huddersfield also brought in Ramadan Sobhi from relegated Stoke City.
The winger had a frustrating spell at the Bet365 Stadium last year, starting just 12 of his 24 Premier League appearances and scoring twice as Stoke dropped to the Championship.
Florent Hadergjonaj

Another loan move made permanent, Florent Hadergjonaj’s transfer was confirmed in March after a good initial spell from Ingolstadt.
The right-back played 27 times for Huddersfield in all competitions last season, forming part of the defence which kept them up in the Premier League.
Juninho Bacuna

Huddersfield also brought in Dutch central midfielder Juninho Bacuna from Eredivisie side Groningen on a three-year deal.
Having come up through the club’s academy, Bacuna – younger brother of ex-Aston Villa man Leandro – scored two goals in 82 league appearances for Groningen.
Jonas Lossl

Arguably Huddersfield’s best loanee last season, Jonas Lossl’s saves were key to helping the club fight off relegation from the Premier League.
Playing all 38 games, Lossl made 101 saves in the Premier League, at an average of 2.7 per 90 minutes and earned him a permanent move which was confirmed in March.

Despite Jonas Lossl’s good campaign, Huddersfield signed Ben Hamer on a free transfer from Premier League rivals Leicester City to boost their squad.

Looking to right the wrongs of a trophy-less campaign last season, Manchester United brought midfielder Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk to strengthen their squad.
Joining Shakhtar in 2013, Fred won three league titles in Ukraine and was a regular feature in the Champions League including last season as the club reached the last-16.
Diogo Dalot

Described as the “best young full-back in Europe” by Jose Mourinho, Manchester United have also signed Diogo Dalot from Porto this summer.
A member of Porto’s academy, the 19-year-old has made just seven first-team appearances for the club but impressed in those games and has already represented Portugal at senior level.

After a successful loan spell that proved pivotal in Newcastle’s Premier League survival, Martin Dubravka has signed a four-year deal with the Magpies.
The Slovakian goalkeeper quickly became a fan favourite at St James’ Park, keeping four clean sheets in his 12 Premier League appearances and conceding only 11 goals to help Newcastle finish tenth in the table.

With Swansea City relegated from the Premier League, some of their better players have had clubs circling to snap them up. One of those was Ki Sung-yueng, who Newcastle United made their own on a free transfer.
The South Korean’s contract was out at the Welsh club after, allowing Newcastle to sign him for free, and joining the list of players to have represented both the Magpies and their bitter rivals Sunderland.

Looking to improve on a poor year last season, Southampton have signed attacking midfielder Mohamed Elyounoussi for a reported £16m from Basel.
The 23-year-old scored 23 goals in 83 games in his last two seasons for the Swiss side and is hoped to prove an adequate replacement for Dusan Tadic who left for Ajax in June.

Watford completed the signing of the England Under-19 defender from League Two outfit Stevenage, signing the 18-year-old on a five-year contract as they prised the teenager away from the Boro amid interest from a host of Premier League clubs.
Stevenage received a club-record fee for the youngster, who featured across 15 matches last season, including 10 starts in the league as the club finished 16th.

Following the release of James Collins, West Ham replaced their ‘Ginger Pele’ with defender Issa Diop from Toulouse for a club-record fee.
Having come through Toulouse’ academy, Diop – a France Under-21 international -made his debut for the club in November 2015 and would make 95 appearances.
Lukasz Fabianski

Another of Swansea’s players to leave following their relegation, Lukasz Fabianski joined West Ham for £7m and is likely to become the club’s number one goalkeeper.
The Poland international spent four years at the Welsh club, playing 150 time and keeping 39 clean sheets in all competitions.

After being named in the Championship Team of the Year and playing a crucial part in Fulham’s promotion to the Premier League, right-back Fredericks decided against signing a new deal with the Londoners and has instead crossed the capital to join West Ham for nothing.
The former Tottenham defender, who has never made a Premier League appearance, was the Hammers’ first signing since Manuel Pellegrini took over as manager.
