Premier League club confirms interest in Arsenal striker

West Ham has confirmed interest in Arsenal and Spanish striker Lucas Perez.

Perez spent last season on loan at Deportivo and scored 8 goals in 35 appearances before returning to North London this summer. Reports in Spain this weekend suggested the striker had sealed a €6m switch to the Lisbon-based club but this has since been denied.

A report in the Mirror now states his desire is to remain in the Premier League while the Hammers wants a backup for striker Marko Arnautovic. The former Spain international has two years remaining on his deal at The Gunners but looks set for a summer exit with new boss Unai Emery said not to be including him in his plans for this season.

Perez joined Arsenal for £20m in the summer of 2016 from Depor and went on to score seven goals in 21 appearances in his debut campaign but fell out of favour thereafter.

With Calum Chambers set to join Fulham on a season-long loan, Arsenal are looking at Croatia defender Domagoj Vida.

According to the Standard, the Gunners have explored the possibility of signing the Besiktas centre half, but must raise funds before they can sign any more players.

Arsenal could make a late move for AC Milan left-back Ricardo Rodriguez.

The Gunners are short of options in this position following Sead Kolasinac being ruled out until October through injury, while Nacho Monreal hasn’t featured in pre-season.

According to the Daily Mail, Unai Emery is considering a late swoop for Ricardo Rodriguez – a teammate of Granit Xhaka and Stephan Lichtsteiner at international level – to solve his problems.

Aaron Ramsey has been linked with a move away from Arsenal this summer, with Chelsea and Liverpool both having been linked with a surprise move for the midfielder.

Barcelona are also believed to have expressed an interest in the Welshman.

The Express report that Chelsea are lining up a sensational late move for Arsenal ace Aaron Ramsey.

The Welshman has yet to extend his contract at the Emirates and his current deal expires at the end of this season.

Amid links with Liverpool, the Blues could well spring a surprise by going for the midfielder

Reports in Spain suggest that is Ramsey were to leave it could make Arsenal’s pursuit of Steven N’Zonzi easier as they could have more money to Sevilla’s £35 million release clause.

Lucas Torreira finally made his Arsenal debut on Saturday evening in the 2-0 victory over Lazio.

Signed from Sampdoria in July, the club’s supporters have had to patiently wait to see the midfielder in action following his World Cup exertions.

Handed a start by head coach Unai Emery, the new signing was paired alongside Granit Xhaka in the middle of the park against the Italian side.
